Cake Ingredients

Barker Bakes cakes are made from only fresh and natural ingredients, for vanilla sponges these are:

• butter
• sugar
• flour
• eggs
• baking powder

Natural flavourings are added as required, e.g

• Premium Vanilla extract
• Premium lemon oil with lemon rind and juice
• Peppermint extract

All vanilla cakes are torted and sandwiched with vanilla buttercream and premium quality raspberry/strawberry jam.

Butterceam is made from:

• butter
• icing sugar
• vanilla
• fresh lemon

Chocolate buttercream has Belgium chocolate added

Chocolate Ganache

Chocolate cakes are torted and sandwiched with chocolate ganache. Gananche is made from:

• premium Belgian chocolate
• double cream

Icing

All vanilla cakes are covered with premium commercial sugarpaste. NEW: marshmallow sugarpaste icing now available (£10 per tier extra).

Chocolate Paste

We use home made chocolate paste using the following:

• premium Belgian chocolate
• glucose syrup.

the above is added to only just enough sugarpaste to make it workable and thus has a far higher proporation of chocolate than commercial chocolate pastes.
